Time off requests for small teams

Employees ask for time off from their own account and managers approve or decline it from one queue. No paper forms, no lost texts.

Request, review, decide

An employee picks the first and last day they need off. The request waits in the manager's queue with its status, and the decision is recorded. The employee can see whether it was approved or declined on their Requests page.

Approved and pending requests appear in the PTO report, so you can see who is out before you publish a schedule.

What this covers today

Gates records time-off requests and decisions. It does not calculate accruals, apply a state paid-sick-leave policy or maintain official balances. Keep the policy decisions with your payroll process and use Gates to keep the request history organized.

Questions from small teams

Does Gates calculate PTO accrual?
