How offline punching works
When there is no connection, the clock saves the punch on the device with the exact time it was tapped, then sends it automatically once the phone is back online. The entry carries the time it was actually tapped, not the time it synced.
It covers clock in, clock out and breaks, in the Android app and in the web clock on a phone or tablet.
What to know before relying on it
Open the web clock once while online so the phone can keep a copy of the page, or install the Android app. Saved punches wait on the device, so keep the phone and the app or page until it reconnects.
Saved punches older than seven days are not accepted, and a punch that overlaps an existing shift is rejected with a message. Managers can still fix a time from the review screen, and every edit keeps a history.
If your company blocks punches outside a worksite, an offline clock-in is still checked against the location saved with it when it syncs.
Not included
Offline mode covers punching only. Schedules, requests and reports need a connection to load fresh data. The iPhone app and app-store listings are not available yet.
Questions from small teams
Does offline mode track my location?
No. Location is read once at clock-in when your company uses worksite checks, and it is saved with that punch.
What if I forget to reconnect?
The punch stays saved on the device and is sent the next time the app or page has a connection.
