Timesheet exceptions: catch late arrivals and missed punches

Gates flags the entries that usually cause payroll questions, so a manager reviews a short list instead of reading every timecard.

What gets flagged

Entries are checked for late arrivals compared with the scheduled start, shifts that stay open too long, breaks that were started and never ended, unusually long breaks, overtime risk and time entries edited before approval.

When a clock-in includes a location and the company has set up worksite geofences, a punch outside the worksite is flagged too.

Fix it once, with a record

A flagged entry is reviewed in the timesheet queue. A corrected time keeps the reason and the reviewer, so the next question about that day has an answer.

Questions from small teams

Are exceptions the same as payroll rules?

No. They are review prompts for a manager. Pay rules, overtime law and wage calculations are applied by your payroll process.
